Essential Worker

Many moons ago after working  as a civilian employee for the Atlanta Police Department, she began her career in the healthcare industry. Anthia graduated as the Valedictorian of her class from Georgia Medical Institute and was recognized for her diligent work ethic and dedication.

Providing award-winning patient care as a Certified Medical Assistant and Medical Transcriptionist for over twenty years, she builds positive relationships with patients and colleagues. Anthia is a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated healthcare professional.

A commitment to service is mirrored in Anthia's professional life. Besides being a Certified Medical Assistant, she has also worked in medical office management, insurance billing, and in-house billing for medical practices. Working 12-hour shifts at a hospital is not for everyone, but Anthia's warm and forthright personality always made her patients at CHOA feel at ease, and patients or their parents regularly sought her out. Why?

Anthia is a natural and fantastic communicator that speaks to the heart.

As a Basic Life Support Instructor, she advocates for "a healthier Georgia free of heart disease and stroke."

Additionally, Anthia enjoys providing free or low-cost notarization to college students and seniors as a traveling Georgia Notary Public.

Anthia's emotional intelligence and empathy will make her an invaluable asset to the Georgia General Assembly. Now, more than ever, we need Anthia.
